Mary Romer Greenfield

Mary’s paintings are intended to capture the spirit of a place and the unique atmosphere that it acquires over time. As you look at her paintings, visions and places emerge from the abstract ground, just as life emerges from the mists of Winter’s cold into the warm sunshine of early Spring.

Prints

Rosemary Catling

Rosemary's figurative prints use digital techniques of repetition and modulation to explore the individual's relationship with technology and memory.

Sculpture

Tony Birks-Hay

Inspired by his teacher and mentor Henry Moore, Tony concentrates on simplification and refinement of natural shapes. A Slade prize-winner, he has exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy, building a strong reputation for his portraiture and sculpture.

Ceramics

Gordon Cooke

Gordon’s fine porcelain boxes display his great skill in this difficult medium – the fit of the lid alone is intriguing. The exhibition also includes Gordon’s stoneware planters, which have won awards at national flower shows, including Chelsea 2007

Gabriele Koch

With sensual, natural form, created by a lengthy hand building process and evocative smoky patterns, Gabriele’s ceramics takes the vessel into the realms of sculpture without losing its intrinsic character. The addition of texture to her more recent pieces makes an interesting contrast to the distinctive burnished finish to her work.

Sonia Lewis

Sonia is a member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen and a selected member of East Anglian Potters. She works ‘in direct response to the thrilling physicality of the process’. Her subtle glazes are enhanced by the luminous porcelain.

Angela Mellor

Light and costal environments feature in Angela’s work. Of primary concern, is an exploration of the light emitting qualities of bone china, resulting in delicate translucent forms reminiscent of the Ocean. The “Sea Bowls” invoke the movement of light through tranquil water.
